What is going on???
This has been one of the worst "holiday seasons" ever. I am confused by my sisters lack of interest or caring of seeing our parents, my ex is being an ass about letting Bea come to CO for the holidays, my best friend is going through hell and I just want to help but all I can offer is a shoulder to cry on. Last Sunday a bout of depression almost did me in. I was soooo down I could not see the top, I took pills, called my shrink, and slept a lot. It took until about Thursday night to start coming out of it, I am getting better now, it was a tough week. So, now I am just worried about my family and my best friend. I will try to call her today and see how she is. We are doing Christmas with my folks at their house and then Christmas with Bill's family on the 29th at my house. I can't imagine why I would be stressed???? Love and Peace.

Why do I try?!?!?!
I give up! Let them do what they will. My ex is trying to tell me he can't afford to get Bea here for Christmas, my scheduled holiday this year, because he and Monica bought a new living room set. My mom is saying Becky won't come and Dad will still be in rehab so it's okay! NO NO NO All I can think about is Bill's Mom and her back surgery and then the funeral!
Today nothing special is going on. Not that anything has been going on for a while at my house. All the kids are doing great in school, Ana has a GPA of 3.56 and James checks in with 3.76, Newt doesn't have a GPA yet but is doing great and ranking high in everything.
My mom and Dad have not been so lucky as to not be interesting as of late.
My Mother had a complete knee replacement in the spring and has recovered nicely except for the fact that her knee is the size of an elephant after being on it all day. I think this is wrong and needs to be looked into but, she says her Doctors say she is doing great.
My Dad is in a rehab place for physical therapy and wound care. He had major back surgery on the 7th of November and went home a week later then, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving he was back in the hospital for emergency surgery. It seems he has a staph infection in his back, deep inside. Two surgery's and a wound-vac later he is still not home. He will be home before Christmas but with the wound-vac in tow. All this brings me to the stress level I am now at.
I have two sisters, both older, I am the baby. Sarah lives in Omaha NE and gets out to CO about twice a year, that is pretty good for a single mom and we love to see her and Michael.
Becky, the oldest, lives outside of Casper WY. She has not been to CO for about 4 years! Yet she goes to Missoula MT and her hubby makes it to North Dakota to see his family on a regular basis.
My father, our Dad, has requested a family Christmas for about 4 years, he and mom just want us all together for a Holiday. Sarah has no problem with this and I am here all the time. Becky on the other hand is whinning because I told her this is the year. We don't know how many more Christmases we will have we both our folks, is it too much to ask for one with all three girls together!!!! I am more than disappointed with Becky, she works at a nursing home, she sees the sadness in peoples eyes when their kids don't come. Does she think our folks are any different? Or is she waiting till it's too late and she won't have to look them in the eye and know how much she has hurt them. I could go on and on about my sister and her selfishness but, I will end this now. I just am really hoping and praying Becky can pull her head out and see what she needs to do.
Love and Peace!

Been A While
I haven't posted in forever, I don't have a good reason. I went to my shrink yesterday, got my refills I needed. Ana went to the springs with me, the guy that did our tattoos wanted to take pics after they healed to be in his portfolio, so we stopped and did that that. My mom was needing a haircut, got that done, and visited my dad in his hospital room, he is recovering from surgery he had Wednesday. The whole family is free today, we might go bowling. Bill doesn't have to work and the kids have no school, so we are going to do something all together. I think we are all looking forward to a day of fun. Last weekend we rearranged the living room and got rid of some furniture, I really had too much in the front room. We also got the recliner that matches our couch. It's a long story but, the set was Bill's mom's first "new-new" furniture and we have had the couch but, the recliner had been sold to someone else, and we now have the set whole again and in our front room. I am wondering what Bill's dad thinks as he has gotten remarried and she(new wife) was the one who decided to get rid of it all. It shouldn't matter but, somehow I think it will matter to Rose. Well, I took some pics yesterday on the way to the Springs, I guess I better get those on my computer so I post them on fliker. Love and Peace.

Ana's First......
Bill and I took Ana to her first concert this week. On Wednesday we went and saw Jethro Tull in Denver. I got some pics of downtown from the parking garage. We all had a blast. I don't care how old Ian Anderson is, he still can rock and puts on a great show. Ana and I got tee-shirts, we will probably wear them at the same time, we have been on the same page for some time now. Ana got her first tattoo last Friday. It was all she asked for on her birthday and designed it herself. When I took her to the shop we decided I would get a matching one. Hers is on her left shoulder and mine is on my right shoulder. So, Ana has had a lot of firsts this last week. At 3 AM on Thursday, after we got home from the concert, Ana and Robert left for their weekend trip to Topeka. They will be home on Sunday. So, we here in Hugo we are missing Ana yet are doing okay. I will finish laundry tomorrow and maybe bake something. Love and Peace.

Sunday Morning
Well, I know I don't post as much as I should. I got through the funeral, losing my favorite priest from my younger days, and homecoming. The day Frank died I had also found out Father Dunn had passed away. It was a lot to deal with all at once. Things are letting up a little, Newt is selling Boy Scout popcorn now so, that is always fun.
Ana and Robert are still together, we'll see how it goes, he bought her a phone and put her on his cell plan. He better behave. The family is doing good, everyone is healthy and as happy as can be expected. James always wants something that cost a min of $50 and I keep saying no, that makes him mad, but, if they aren't mad once in a while I wouldn't be doing my job. Ana is still working at Subway but, looking into getting a job at the Bee Hive here in town. Newt loves school and all his little girlfriends, also doing Boy Scouts with his best buddy.
Just taking it easy this AM, hopefully today will be uneventful and just a lazy day. My mom and dad may stop by on their way home from Grand Island NE, they went for my dad's fifty year reunion, wow. He was all excited about still having hair at his age and had me trim him up before going but, was real picky this time.
The songs I am listening to is my brother-in-law, Becky's husband. I really like his sound and have copied the disc for a number of people around town, I told him to send more and I could sell them but, he seems to be happy with just knowing people want his music.
This last week I made bread and cookies so, I am not sure what I will bake today but, I feel like making something. Maybe I will make some different cookies and give them to Peg and Bob, they have been run ragged lately and could use some cookies. Well, off to bake something. Love and Peace.

Going Fishing
My Other Mother's husband passed away on Friday. Yes, that makes him my Other Dad. He was my Dad in Hugo, it is their cabin we would go to. We will all miss Frank very much. I went with Patty to the funeral home yesterday to help decide on arrangements, something I had never done before. The funeral is on Wednesday at two, Bill and I will keep the kids out of school that day and be there as family, we are in the obit as daughter and son-in-law. Frank and Patty have always been a very large part of our family and been the parents when we needed them. It was Frank that gave me my nickname of "Hemi", as in pain in the butt, and Newt got the name "Frog", from when he would sleep with his butt in the air when he was a baby. I am sad but, glad Frank is no longer in pain and suffering from everything that had gone wrong with his body. Rest in Peace Frank, we love you.

Rain, Rain....
It's been raining here everyday for the last few days. Not the nice steady rain, it's the move the cars, the street is flooding again rain. So, the ground is muddy, the streets have big puddles, and the yard is a mess. But, the good thing, is we really needed the rain, and we got it. It makes us all nervous when we see the wall clouds with the rain. We didn't get any tornado's yet so that is wonderful as we don't have a basement.
The kids and I went to the Springs yesterday, had to get some unders and what not for everyone and the hubby's Comet needed a starter. We got a few more bucks from my suit against the insurance Co. from the semi accident so, might as well go shopping. I love shopping therapy and got some yarn from the Goodwill and Salvation Army stores. I am thinking of making hats for the kids for this winter. I have started one already and Ana is eying it and asking who it's for. Well, I am helping with the fireman's auction today, it's a fundraiser for the fire and ambulance Dept. so off I go to do hair and then off to the auction. Love and Peace.

Not Much
Not much going on today, I am watching a couple of girls Newt likes while their mom is at work. Ana started school yesterday, the first day of her last year of high school. :-( The boys start on Wednesday, I figure by newt week things will smooth out and life will return to sort of normalcy if we ever had that to begin with. James goes to his shrink next Friday, I am hoping to get something to help relax and wind down in the evenings, we are already having the whole night upheaval, and we haven't even started to do the "bed time" thing yet, I have just made it a little earlier every night and tonight it will be a "bed time", school starts tomorrow. :-) I uploaded some pics to flickr this AM. I guess it's time to make some lunch for the little guys. Love and Peace.

Off to the Springs
Today the boys and I are going to town to finish up the school shopping at get their "gym shoes", you know the non marking soles and all. I hat e the fact they have to have special shoes for a year of gym in first grade! I only have about half their list to go before I am done shopping, had some stuff left over from last year. I also get to see my shrink today, yeah, more drugs!!!!!! I have been out of one of mine since about the middle of last week, so I think it will help to be on everything again. To answer a question some one else asked in their blog, yes, you can need a vaction when you are not working outside your house. Being a mom and wife takes it's tole and I am feeling very ready for school to start and everyone being gone during the day, we all need "our time". I am finding the boyfriend less than charming more and more and he still is not altering his behavior at all. He can say he is sorry but, actions are far louder than words. Well, off to get ready to go, than a fun filled day shopping with kids? Then a night of meeting at the school at 6,7. and 7:30. I know, my life is one big party, how can I stand it?!?!?!?!?! Love and Peace.

Enough
I have had enough of the boyfriend. He has a habit of only thinking of himself or not thinking at all. He lacks respect for me, yet is very timid and respectful around Bill. I have tries to talk to him and explain to him the fact that the house he is living in is not his but, Bill and I's and we worked hard to get it. I am about to blow and, if he thinks I am bitch now he hasn't seen nothing yet! I am just bitting my tongue till he finds a place and can move out! I love my daughter but, I would have dumped the selfish asshole a long time ago. I guess I am just tired of having him ask me if I got to do the things HE wanted me to do today, as if I am just here to do his stuff and ignore the rest of the stuff I had to do today, I just got the last of the vacation pics downloaded it takes a while to even get on the computer with the kids all wanting on it all day. Well, the kids go back to school soon and he will be moving out SOON. Love and Peace.

Back from the Cabin
We had a great time at the cabin. I found out Robert isn't an outdoors boy, he just thinks he is and that can be very funny at times. We fished, without much luck, and hiked a lot more than we had before. All in all we had fun. Bill and I shared the cooking chores and everyone ate well while in the mountains. I found and we explored the Tincup Cemetery which we all found very interesting. I took lots of pics which I will be posting on Flickr. Newt my youngest has a thing for getting in Taylor Res. in just his unders but, he also has the best luck fishing, maybe if we all tried it we would all catch bigger fish. I was able to use my EMT skills on an elderly man who had fallen on some sharp rocks. He cut his hand pretty bad and needed a pressure bandage to stop the bleeding. I told him to have a Dr. look at it and that he may need stitches, he then asked if he could continue to fish for a while before leaving. I said yes. We pulled back into Hugo around 3:30 PM yesterday and that is when things went to hell in a hand basket.
Bills boss drove by on her way to Colorado Springs and we found out her husband is not doing well and may pass away before too long. We were also told that a young man from Hugo had died that AM from a bad cut to his fingers(still sketchy on those details). So, we have the bad news lets go in the house and bring the dogs in from the backyard. When we check dogs Spot is missing, I call around to find out he had been taken to the vets early on Saturday AM and had passed away a few hours ago from Parvo, we are all upset we have lost the baby of the family. I am thinking maybe we should just turn around and go back to the mountains by now. My oldest son James then checks his room to check on his mouse, sadly she has passed away also! Dam! Now I know I want to go away again. So, I will tell you, Spot is the only dog I ever thought about getting all his shots for, not just rabies, I had started his puppy shots and was in the process of getting them all, he had had part but, not all of his Parvo stuff, yet, he is the one that died! Really makes me wonder but, the vet was nice enough to come to the house yesterday around 4:30 and give shots to our other dogs, hopefully nobody else will get sick. I write more later, now I am off to the laundromat to do the mountains of laundry, that way it will be done and it will be out of the way, I think I have three black trash bags full!!! HELP!!!! Love and Peace.

Off to the Cabin!!!!!
Well, today we leave for the cabin. We will be off around 3 or 4 this afternoon after hubby gets off work. I am so excited. Ana and Robert have never been up to the cabin yet so they are really happy to get to go this time. I still have to finish packing and getting our fishing gear out of the garage, get out the sleeping bags, and pack the van and truck. I am also doing a perm for a gal this AM. I have clothes in the dryer that need to be folded and packed. We will be stopping in Colorado Springs to grocery shop and hit Wal-Mart for those last minute things. I am thinking we will be getting to the cabin this evening after dark, I have never got there after dark before. We will have to turn on the propane and unload by flashlight and lantern, that will be interesting. We are going to have so much fun and sadly enough the cabin is bigger than my house so we won't be tripping over each other and everyone will be more relaxed. As my friend Patty says "the cabin fixes everything". Everyone has been on edge the last few days. Well, I will let you know haw it went next week, we will be home around the 11th. Love and Peace.

Peace.
Well, all the kiddos are out of the house right now. With 6 people in a three bedroom house it seems like there is always someone there. So, with everyone out of the house I have done some laundry, dishes and started potato salad, wait, shouldn't I be relaxing in the peace? Oh well, I best get a shower while no one is in the bathroom, yes we only have one:-)!!!! Love and Peace.

He's Lucky
SO, Robert got here yesterday about 9:30 AM. SO, I don't have to hurt him. He will start looking for a job soon and can start when we get back from the cabin, then he can get his own place.
Today we are going to Colorado Springs, James has a shrink appt and I need to cut my folk's hair. I am off to the showers now, there are more people to get ready this AM than usual. Love and Peace.

My Daughter's Boyfriend
Today is the day Robert is to be here. Ana and Robert have been dating for almost two years and he decided to move to CO to be closer to her. In the past Robert has said he would visit while Ana was visiting and never showed up, he always comes up with some excuse. Now Ana can't get him on the cell and is wondering where he is or if he is on the road. If he hurts my girl I swear, I will not be a happy mom! Love and Peace.

Finally
Okay, and you know who you are, I just purchased my Flickr Pro Account for the first year! Love and Peace. See, you on Flickr.
My Day

Today, will be fun, at least I hope so. I have a haircut this AM to do here at the house then, Ana and I are off to the school to get forms signed and filled out. The school also needs to get her records from the school in Topeka. WOW, I now have three kiddos in the Genoa-Hugo School, varying from 1st grade to a Sr. WOW!!! Ana and I also need to look through her Sr. pics and decide which ones to order and all.
We are also getting ready to go to "the cabin" for Aug. 5-11. We are all excited about that one, it will be Ana's first time, I think she is the most excited. That pic is Bill cooking at the cabin last year. He loves to cook, and really loves it when we are in the mountains. I promise to take loads of pics and will post them on flickr when we get back. I think the best part of the cabin is no phones, not even cell phones work up there! Yeah!! Oh, and no TV either, I love the whole doing things together, playing games, talking, reading. None of the distractions of the world today. Just you and the family spending time together. Well, off to the shower, we don't get those at the cabin either! Love and Peace.Wednesday, July 18, 2007
Can't Wait!
Tomorrow I leave for Topeka KS to pick up my oldest daughter to come home to live! She has been living with her father for the last ten years and decided to come back to CO for her senior year. We here in CO are all very happy and looking forward to having her home. I will be back on Friday, probably pretty late. Ana and I are having lunch with an old friend of mine before we leave Topeka. The only thing I am not looking forward to is the heat and humidity in Topeka, as Blue says in Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, "It's Hot in Topeka!". So, until then, Love and Peace.
